ALL ABOUT AIA wellness CHECK

Getting a snapshot of your health can be done at your local Pharmacy. Early detection and prevention are key to improved long term health, but knowing what health checks to have done and when can be confusing. Your local Pharmacy team can guide you in the right direction, and will always respect your privacy, and if you feel more comfortable they can talk to you in a private area about what the right option for you may be.

You can complete your free AIA Vitality Health Check once per membership year at participating Life Pharmacy. Pharmacy staff are fully qualified and equipped to deliver accurate results by the end of your check-up (so you’re not left waiting to hear back from your tests).

What's involved in an AIA wellness check?

The AIA Vitality Health Check involves four simple measures that give a useful insight into your health and wellbeing:

  • Body mass index (BMI), blood pressure, total cholesterol and blood glucose levels. 
  • Blood pressure – high blood pressure (hypertension) can have no warning signs and lead to life-threatening conditions like a heart attack or stroke.
  • Cholesterol – high cholesterol can similarly lead to heart attack or stroke.
  • Blood glucose – vital in screening for diabetes.
