Use these tips and tricks to be sure you choose the right foundation for you

HOW DO I FIND MY UNDERTONE WHEN CHOOSING FOUNDATION?

Take a look at the veins on the inside of your wrist. Do they look more blue or green? If they look more blue, you likely have cool undertones. If they look green, you have warm undertones.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I RE-REMATCH MY FOUNDATION COLOUR?

Skin constantly changes colour, mostly due to changes in the environment and the amount of sunlight that hits our face, but pigment changes within our skin can fluctuate at any time. For the best results re-match your foundation colour every time your purchase new foundation.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO APPLY FOUNDATION?

How you apply foundation is a personal choice, but it can also depend on whether you choose a liquid, cream or powder product. The one product you can get away with using your fingers to apply is BB cream. A thicker foundation formula generally requires a brush or beauty blender (sponge), because when using your fingers the formulation may not spread evenly. A brush is more effective to save product and to give a high quality finish.

DOES AGE IMPACT WHAT FOUNDATION I SHOULD CHOOSE

In most cases it’s not a person’s age that identifies which type of foundation they should wear, but their skin condition. Not all skin types require the same things as they mature. Youthful skin usually responds well to any kind of finish and coverage, but you do need to consider how foundation will work with your skin type, such as dry or oily, and last over the day. Generally with more mature skin, a semi-dewy finish is more flattering and makes the skin look plumper and more radiant.
