Check your iron levels at home
Low iron levels are prevalent in Aotearoa – 7.2% of Kiwi women and 1.1% of men have iron deficiency. You may have been diagnosed with iron deficiency in the past, or you might be wondering if low iron is the reason that you’re tired all the time.
You could find it helpful to test your iron level at home. Our iron test kits provide results in minutes, using a fingerstick to draw a tiny amount of blood, which you press onto a testing cassette. The lines indicate whether the ferritin levels in your blood are above or below the low iron threshold.
Rapid at home UTI test
Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are very common – 50% to 60% of women will have at least one UTI in their lifetime. If you suspect you have a UTI, an accredited pharmacist may be able to supply you with antibiotics without a prescription.
We also have at home UTI test kits that can detect a UTI in a urine sample, providing results in just a few minutes.
At home sperm quality test
Around a quarter of Kiwi couples experience infertility, and in around 40% of couples the cause includes a male factor. If you want to know more about your sperm viability, or see whether lifestyle changes are making a difference, reach for an at home sperm quality test.
Although not a substitute for a full lab test, our sperm quality tests are an easy and convenient way to assess your sperm count and motility. Take the test in the privacy of your own home, with results in 30 minutes.
Over the counter drug tests
Some jobs require pre-employment drug tests, or regular workplace drug tests. Pre-employment drug tests are required for around 40% of the jobs listed with Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ).
Our reputable drug screening at home tests allow you to detect a range of substances, including amphetamine, methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, benzodiazepines and morphine. These rapid drug tests detect elevated levels of drugs in your urine, providing results within minutes.
Test your vitamin D levels at home
Vitamin D plays an important role in bone and muscle health. We get vitamin D from our food and sunlight, but it’s not always easy to get enough. Low vitamin D levels are common in New Zealand: around one in three Kiwi kids are low in vitamin D, and close to half of adults.
If you are concerned about your vitamin D levels, an at home vitamin D test will detect a deficiency in 10 minutes, using a fingerstick test.
Take home sexual health test
More than 50% of us will have at least one sexually transmitted infection (STI) during our lifetime.
Our STI Testing Take Home Kit contains what you need for home swabbing and urine collection. The Kit includes a prepaid courier bag to send your samples away, or you can drop them at a testing clinic.
Once received, your samples are lab tested for four sexually transmissible infections (STIs): chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis and HIV. Results arrive via email within a week, or you will receive a phone call for a positive HIV or syphilis test. All results remain confidential and are not sent to your GP.
Other at home health testing kits
Our other at-home health tests include:
- Menopause FSH test, to check the level of follicle-stimulating hormone in urine.
- Celiac test, which checks for the presence of IgA and IgG in the blood.
- Bowel FOB test, which indicates the presence of blood in the stool.
- Early pregnancy test, to detect hCG in urine.
- Vaginal pH test, detecting abnormalities in acidity levels from a vaginal swab.
- Helicobacter pylori antigen test, which indicates the presence of this bacteria in the stool.
